Textulariella was named by Cushman (1927) [Sepkoski's age data: T Mi R]. It is extant. Its type is Textularia barrettii.

It was assigned to Textulariinae by Cushman (1927); to Textulariellidae by Gronhagen and Luterbacher (1966); and to Foraminiferida by Sepkoski (2002).
