Rhamphostomopsis neogaeus
Taxonomy
Rhamphostomopsis neogaeus was named by Rusconi (1933). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Barrancas del Rio Parana, which is in a Tortonian marginal marine siltstone/sandstone in the Entre Rios Formation of Argentina. It is the type species of Rhamphostomopsis.
It was recombined as Ramphostoma neogaeus by Burmeister (1885); it was recombined as Gryposuchus neogaeus by Gurich (1912), Langston and Gasparini (1997) and Riff and Aguilera (2008).
