Sinipercidae was named by Roberts (1993). It is extant. Its type is Siniperca.

It was assigned to Percomorpharia by Betancur et al. (2013); to Centrarchoidei by van der Laan (2019); and to Perciformes by Nelson et al. (2016), Yabumoto (2020).
