Ammonites (Acrochordiceras) damesii was named by Noetling (1880). It is the type species of Silesiacrochordiceras.
It was recombined as Silesiacrochordiceras damesi by Spath (1934); it was recombined as Acrochordiceras damesi by Monnet et al. (2010).
