Taxonomy
Tomistoma tandoni was named by Sahni and Mishra (1975). Its type specimen is LUVP 11062, a mandible, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Nareda, which is in a Lutetian marine horizon in the Harudi Formation of India.
