Taxonomy
Crocodylus (Leptorhynchus) crassidens was named by Cautley and Falconer (1840). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Siwalik Hills, which is in a Pliocene fluvial horizon in the Pinjor Formation of Pakistan.
It was recombined as Leptorhynchus crassidens by Falconer and Cautley (1840); it was recombined as Rhamphosuchus crassidens by Lydekker (1886), Perrier (1928), Mook (1932), Swinton (1934).
