Taxonomy
Prototoceras pulchriforme was named by Qin (1986). Its type specimen is Geological Bureau of Jiangxi Guan42 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Guanmaoshan, Fengcheng County, which is in a Wuchiapingian marine horizon in the Loping Formation of China.
