Rhineceps nyasaensis
Taxonomy
Rhinesuchus nyasaensis was named by Haughton (1926). Its type specimen is SAM-PK-7866, a mandible, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Fossils 'B2', Upper Bone Bed, Chiweta, which is in a Wuchiapingian terrestrial horizon in the Chiweta Beds Formation of Malawi. It is the type species of Rhineceps.
It was recombined as Rhineceps nyasaensis by Schoch and Milner (2000).
