Taxonomy
Solarioconulus elegans was named by Haas (1953). Its type specimen is AMNH 27529:5 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Cerro de Pasco area, Ninacaca, loc. 86, which is in a Rhaetian marine limestone in Peru.
