Caiman paranensis
Taxonomy
Crocodilus paranensis was named by Scalabrini (1887). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Barrancas del Rio Parana, which is in a Tortonian marginal marine siltstone/sandstone in the Entre Rios Formation of Argentina.
It was recombined as Proalligator paranensis by Rusconi (1932); it was recombined as Xenosuchus paranensis by Rusconi (1933); it was recombined as Caiman paranensis by Patterson (1936).
