Taxonomy
Zardinechinus pulchellus was named by Smith (1994). Its type specimen is USNM 465261 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is 85-HN-41, Huanincocha, which is in a Rhaetian shallow subtidal grainstone in the Chambara Formation of Peru.
