Taxonomy
Deroceras evolutum was named by Fucini (1924).

It was recombined as Metaderoceras evolutum by Thomson and Smith (1992), Smith and Tipper (1996), Rakús and Guex (2002); it was synonymized subjectively with Metaderoceras gemmellaroi by Meister and Friebe (2003); it was recombined as Metaderoceras gemmellaroi evolutum by Geczy and Meister (2007).
