Hippocampus sarmaticus
Taxonomy
Hippocampus sarmaticus was named by Žalohar et al. (2009). Its type specimen is T-245, a skeleton, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Tunjice Village, location A, which is in a Sarmatian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal mudstone in the Dol Formation of Slovenia.
