Taxonomy
Ammonites lythensis was named by Young and Bird (1828).

It was recombined as Pseudolioceras lythense by Howarth (1962) and Guex (1972); it was recombined as Pseudolioceras (Pseudolioceras) lythense by Howarth (1992) and Bécaud (2006).
