Sysphinctostoma smithi
Taxonomy
Sysphinctostoma smithi was named by Broili and Schröder (1936). Its type specimen is BSPG 1936 II 8, a skull, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Lady Frere Commonage, which is in an Anisian terrestrial horizon in the Burgersdorp Formation of South Africa. It is the type species of Sysphinctostoma.
