Taxonomy
Acanthopleuroceras calliplocoides was named by Spath (1923).

It was synonymized subjectively with Tropidoceras calliplocum by Bremer (1965); it was recombined as Tropidoceras calliplocoides by Spath (1928), Meister (1986).
