Taxonomy
Capillomesolobus was named by Pečar (1986) [Sepkoski's age data: C Pn Sepkoski's reference number: 881]. Its type is Capillomesolobus karavankensis. It is the type genus of Capillomesolobinae.

It was assigned to Capillomesolobinae by Williams et al. (2000); and to Strophomenida by Sepkoski (2002).
