Taxonomy
Cinctifera was named by Muir-Wood and Cooper (1960) [Sepkoski's age data: C Vise-u Sepkoski's reference number: 1,400]. It is not extant. Its type is Productus medusa.

It was assigned to Semicostellini by Williams et al. (2000); and to Strophomenida by Sepkoski (2002).
