Arboroharamiya was named by Zheng et al. (2013). It is the type genus of Arboroharamiyidae.
It was assigned to Haramiyida by Zheng et al. (2013); to Euharamiyida by Bi et al. (2014); and to Arboroharamiyidae by Han et al. (2017).
