Belemnocerca prolata
Taxonomy
Belemnocerca prolata was named by Wendruff and Wilson (2013). Its type specimen is UALVP 43606, a partial skeleton (caudal peduncle and fin with supplementary lobe and anal fin), and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Ganoid Range, Cirque C, Wapiti Lake, which is in a Smithian offshore siltstone in the Sulphur Mountain Formation of Canada. It is the type species of Belemnocerca.
