Taxonomy
Polycystocoelia silberlingi was named by Senowbari-Daryan and Stanley (1992). Its type specimen is UMIP 6653 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is MI 8607, Garfield Hills, which is in a Lacian reef, buildup or bioherm limestone in the Luning Formation of Nevada.
