Boverisuchus was named by Kuhn (1938). Its type is Boverisuchus magnifrons.

It was assigned to Crocodilia by Kuhn (1964); and to Planocraniidae by Brochu (2013), Rio and Mannion (2021).

Synonyms

Weigeltisuchus was named by Kuhn (1938). Its type is Weigeltisuchus geiseltalensis.

It was synonymized subjectively with Boverisuchus by Brochu (2013).

It was assigned to Crocodilia by Kuhn (1964).
