Taxonomy
Spirifer (Neospirifer) bakeri was named by King (1931) [Includes subspecies bakeri, columbiarus. Type specimen based on holotype for N. bakeri bakeri.]. Its type specimen is YPM 12500 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is R.E. King 46, Sullivan Peak, Glass Mountains, which is in a Roadian carbonate limestone in the Road Canyon Formation of Texas.
It was recombined as Neospirifer bakeri by Cooper and Grant (1976).
