Taxonomy
Maitaia regularicostatum was named by Biakov (2013). Its type specimen is TsNIGR 126/11570, a valve (left valve), and it is a mold. Its type locality is Nyangylbyya River, Northern Kharaulakh, which is in a Changhsingian marine siliciclastic in the Kharaulakh Formation of the Russian Federation.
