Aethirhynchia was named by Shi (1990) [Sepkoski's age data: J Call Sepkoski's reference number: 1091]. It is not extant. Its type is Aethirhynchia lenticulata.
It was assigned to Cryptorhynchiinae by Williams et al. (2002); and to Rhynchonellida by Sepkoski (2002).
