Taxonomy
Venetocrania euganea was named by Bitner and Dieni (2005). Its type specimen is MGPD 28977, a valve, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Via Siesa, Castelnuovo of Teolo, which is in a Priabonian marine marl in the Marna Euganea Formation of Italy. It is the type species of Venetocrania.
