Taxonomy
Annaichthys pontegiurinensis was named by Arratia (2013). Its type specimen is MCSNB 11282a-c, a partial skeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Ponte Giurino (Calcare di Zorzino), which is in an Alaunian basinal (carbonate) limestone in the Calcare di Zorzino Formation of Italy.
