Taxonomy
Pecten (Chlamys) middlesexensis was named by Mansfield (1936) [orignally Pecten (Chlamys) santamaria middlesexensis]. It is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Chesapecten middlesexensis by Ward and Blackwelder (1975).
