Taxonomy
Sulcirostra was named by Cooper and Muir-Wood (1951) [Sepkoski's age data: Tr u J Toar Sepkoski's reference number: 1,538]. Its type is Rhynchonellina seguenzae.

It was assigned to Rhynchonellida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Rhynchonellininae by Williams et al. (2002).
