Platyceras (Orthonychia) egorovi was named by Mazaev (1996). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Locality 008. Outcrop near the 55 km station, which is in a Pavlovoposadian carbonate mudstone in the Rechitsy Formation of the Russian Federation.
It was recombined as Orthonychia egorovi by Wagner (2023).
