Taxonomy
Belemnites didayanus was named by d'Orbigny (1843). Its type specimen is Budapest no M-6011725 and is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Duvalia didayana by Enay et al. (1994) and Combémorel and Fischer (1994).
