Taxonomy
Dispiriferina was named by Siblik (1965) [Sepkoski's age data: J Hett J Toar Sepkoski's reference number: 538]. It is the type genus of Dispiriferininae.

It was assigned to Spiriferida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Dispiriferininae by Williams et al. (2006).
