Taxonomy
Pecten columbianum was named by Clark and Arnold (1923). Its type specimen is UCMP 30056 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is China Beach, which is in a Chattian marine sandstone in the Sooke Formation of Canada.
It was recombined as Pecten (Chlamys) columbiana by Weaver (1942); it was recombined as Leochlamys columbiana by Moore (1984).
