Taxonomy
Echinolampas consolationis was named by Sanchez-Roig (1953). Its type specimen is Sanchez Roig Tipo No. 757, a test, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Finca "Soledad", norte de Consolacion, which is in an Eocene/Oligocene carbonate carbonate in Cuba.
