Echanthus georgiensis
Taxonomy
Echinanthus georgiensis was named by Clark and Twitchell (1915) [attributed to Twitchell only]. Its type specimen is USNM 165683b, a test, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is USGS Loc. 4033 - Parke's farm, Ellaville [Clayton Fm], which is in a Danian coastal siliciclastic in the Clayton Formation of Georgia. It is the type species of Echanthus.
It was recombined as Echanthus georgiensis by Cooke (1942), Cooke (1959).
