Taxonomy
Cephaloraphidites was named by Schrammen (1899) [Sepkoski's age data: K Camp-l Sepkoski's reference number: 205,1066]. It is not extant. Its type is Cephaloraphidites cavernosus. It is the type genus of Cephaloraphiditidae.

It was assigned to Astrophorida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Cephaloraphiditidae by Finks et al. (2004).
