Heteroraphidites was named by Schrammen (1901) [Sepkoski's age data: K u]. It is not extant. Its type is Heteroraphidites spongiosus.

It was assigned to Astrophorida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Cephaloraphiditidae by Finks et al. (2004).
