Ophiraphidites was named by Carter (1876) [Sepkoski's age data: K Sn T Eo-m Sepkoski's reference number: 1066]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Ophiraphiditidae by Schrammen (1903); and to Astrophorida by Sepkoski (2002).
