Xenomartinia was named by Havlicek (1953) [Sepkoski's age data: D Sieg D Eife Sepkoski's reference number: 25]. It is not extant. It is the type genus of Xenomartiniinae, Xenomartiniidae.
It was assigned to Spiriferida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Xenomartiniinae by Williams et al. (2006).
