Propachastrella was named by Schrammen (1910) [Sepkoski's age data: K Ceno K Camp-l Sepkoski's reference number: 642]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Astrophorida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Pachastrellidae by Finks et al. (2004).
