Probeloceras lutheri

Taxonomy

Goniatites lutheri was named by Clarke (1885). Its type specimen is USNM 14993 and is a 3D body fossil. It is the type species of Probeloceras.

It was recombined as Probeloceras lutheri by Korn and Klug (2002), House and Kirchgasser (2008).

Synonyms

Gephyroceras holzapfeli was named by Clarke (1899).

It was synonymized subjectively with Probeloceras lutheri by Korn and Klug (2002).
