Taxonomy
Beloceras iynx was named by Clarke (1898). Its type specimen is NYSM 3581, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Naplesites iynx by Yatskov (1990), Korn and Klug (2002), House and Kirchgasser (2008).
