Truyolsoceras bicostatum
Taxonomy
Goniatites bicostatus was named by Hall (1843). Its type specimen is AMNH 5888/1, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Corell's Point, shore of Lake Erie, which is in a Famennian marine shale in the Gowanda Formation of New York.
It was recombined as Truyolsoceras bicostatum by House and Kirchgasser (2008).
