Taxonomy
Sagenites minaensis was named by Taylor and Guex (2002). Its type specimen is NWMNH 25274 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is New York Canyon, section a, near top of Nun Mine Mb, which is in a Rhaetian marine limestone in the Gabbs Formation of Nevada.
