Taxonomy
Actinoceras vaughanianum was named by Girty (1909). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is USGS 2080 green, Boggy Creek, which is in a Brigantian marine shale in the Caney Formation of Oklahoma.
It was recombined as Rayonnoceras vaughanianum by Gordon (1964).
