Sharpeiceras florencae was named by Spath (1925).

Synonyms

Sharpeiceras goliath was named by Haas (1942) [DISTRIBUTION: Turonian-Coniacian; Angola.]. Its type specimen is AMNH 25186, a shell, and it is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Loc. 3095, Cabiri (Cenomanian), which is in a Cenomanian marine horizon in Angola.

It was synonymized subjectively with Sharpeiceras florencae by Howarth (1985).
Sharpeiceras occidentale was named by Benavides-Caceres (1956). It is a mold. Its type locality is Bed 111, Cajamarca section, which is in a Cenomanian carbonate limestone in the Yumagual Formation of Peru.

It was synonymized subjectively with Sharpeiceras florencae by Howarth (1985).
