Taxonomy

Rhynchogilviella was named by Ceccolini and Cianferoni (2023). Its type is Ogilviella rotunda.

It was assigned to Spirigerininae by Ceccolini and Cianferoni (2023).

Synonyms

Arctispira is a genus. It is not extant.

It was synonymized subjectively with Ogilviella by Williams et al. (2002).

It was assigned to Atrypida by Sepkoski (2002).
Ogilviella was named by Eliasova (1973). Its type is Ogilviella rotunda.

It was synonymized subjectively with Placogyra by Baron-Szabo (2009); it was replaced with Rhynchogilviella by Ceccolini and Cianferoni (2023); it was corrected as Ogilvinella by Eliasova (1976), Baron-Szabo (2002), Lathuilière (2024).

It was assigned to Atrypidae by Lenz (1968); to Atrypida by Sepkoski (2002); to Spirigerininae by Williams et al. (2002); to Rhipidogyridae by Eliasova (1976), Baron-Szabo (2002); and to Aplosmiliidae by Lathuilière (2024).
