Taxonomy
Nowakites klamathonis was named by Anderson (1958). Its type specimen is CAS 61800.01, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is CAS loc. 61800, Sidney Richardson Ranch, 4 miles north of Montague, which is in a Coniacian marine sandstone in California.
