Taxonomy
Planammatoceras (Pseudaptetoceras) tricolore was named by Westermann and Riccardi (1982). Its type specimen is MLP 14446, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Locality 8, Cerro Tricolor, Mendoza, which is in a Concavum marine shale in Argentina.
