Taxonomy
Puchenquia (Gerthiceras) compressa was named by Westermann and Riccardi (1982). Its type specimen is MLP 14573, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Locality 823, Rio Potimalal, Mendoza, which is in a Murchisonae transition zone/lower shoreface sandstone in Argentina. It is the type species of Puchenquia (Gerthiceras).
